Come along to the Minibeasts & Us Big Saturday and find out more about these fascinating creatures. See a selection of showy insects from the Museum’s Entomology store, various live stick-insects which can be handled and some live aquatic insects. Volunteers from the Amateur Entomologist Society will be on hand to answer your questions about insects. In the Musuem allotment we will be finding and recording any mini beasts we find.

Meet the Species is part of Discovering Places – the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad Campaign to inspire the UK to discover their local environment. It is co-ordinated by the Bristol Natural History Consortium, and has joined forces with Local Leaders and Garden for the Games to get as many people as possible enjoying the outdoors and getting closer to nature in a diverse range of events.
